Garn-llech Barn features

Set high in the uninterrupted Llanover Valley and surrounded by farmland, you will find plenty to do here. There are well-marked footpaths from the door which you can follow to explore Blaenavon Common or head to the local country pub. This is also a great spot for discovering the breathtaking scenery and exciting attractions of the Brecon Beacons National Park, with The Big Pit at Blaenavon, Brecon Mountain Railway, Zip World Tower, and Raglan Farm Park all within 30 miles. For walkers, you can enjoy the Black Mountains (19 miles), Blorenge (5.5 miles), and Pen y Fan (32 miles). The area also serves cyclists and water sports enthusiasts well. The rivers of the Usk and Wye Valley are 5 and 30 miles away respectively, whilst Llandegfedd Reservoir is 8.5 miles away and Llangorse Lake is 22 miles.

Security & Doors

The entrance and exit are through the front door at the front of the property.
There is a set of keys supplied to you which will be able to open and lock the front door and the back door.
The porch doorway is open constantly – there is no need to lock this door
Please remember to lock the internal front door and back door manually upon departure as this isn’t a self-locking door.

Heating

The heating system is oil fired with a Temperature Control Box. This is located on the wall in the entranceway. We have set the temperature to gain a comfortable heat, please do remember to turn itmback when checking out of the property.
You have the benefit of a wood burner in the lounge area, this will effectively provide heat throughout the cottage.
If you have purchased one of our welcome fire packs: The kindling, firelighters and matches can be found to the left of the fireplace. Please ensure all fires are extinguished before you leave the house / go to bed.

Parking

Parking for 2 vehicles is directly next to the house on the driveway through the gate entrance.
Please ensure you do not block the main track as other guests will be using the main entranceway over the cattle grid for access.
Please do not block the track to the right hand side of the driveway as this is used constantly by farm vehicles.

Kitchen

The kitchen is well-equipped, there is an electric stove and oven, a microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. We have also made sure that there are enough cooking tins and saucepans for you to enjoy cooking and baking. There is also a small amount of cleaning materials for you to take care
during your stay.

Dining Room/ Sitting Room

There is a dining table supplied for your use during your stay which is located in the Kitchen.
There is a hoover, travel cot and sweeping brushes supplied in each cottage.
The TV has inbuilt Freeview set. You can find useful information, maps, and games in the side cupboard for you to enjoy.

Bedrooms

The main king size bedrooms are located on the 1st floor which can be accessed by the main staircase.
The master bedroom hosts a king-sized bed, inbuilt wardrobes and a large dresser and mirror. There is a hairdryer located in the dresser.
The middle bedroom hosts a King Size bed with a wardrobe and dresser. A hairdryer is in the chest of drawers.
The end bedroom holds a King size bed and has ample space for a travel cot and includes a dresser and wardrobe for storage. There is a hairdryer provided in the dresser.
Downstairs (ground floor) there is an end bedroom which holds 2 single beds. There is a small dresser which holds a hairdryer.

Bathroom

Upstairs, you will find the large family bathroom which includes a large shower with dual option shower head, toilet, and sink. There is a separate bath available to use.
Downstairs there is a Shower room with a open wet room shower head, toilet and sink.
There is a selection of Welsh Toiletries available for you to use.

Towels and Bath Robes

We have provided one hand towel and bath sheet for each guest to use inside the property.
When you depart please place any used towels on the floor of the bathroom

Outdoor furniture

We have provided a seating area, BBQ and Fire pit for you to enjoy during your stay.
All cushions and outdoor furniture are stored in the outdoor facility.

Smoking

Smoking and vaping are strictly forbidden inside the property but please feel free to smoke outside in the front garden. Please dispose of the butts in the sand bucket provided.

Trash / Recycling

Recycling is taken very seriously within the local area to preserve the natural beauty of The Brecon Beacons National Park.
You will find separate bins for food waste, plastic & cardboard, and another for metal waste in the kitchen. Glass waste will need to be disposed of in the outdoor waste box which is marked. Outdoor bins are provided outside of the main property.
